2018 - The Nor'easters are celebrating their 52nd year of being a chapter chorus, licensed by the Barbershop Harmony Society in 1966. The chorus membership ranges from all ages and walks of life, but their common interest is the love of music and the camaraderie that singing barbershop music brings, and sharing it with like minded men who love singing together.
The Nor'easters do many performances throughout the year in the greater Mid-Coast community that include benefit concerts for Respite Care, Caring For Kids in the Bristol/So. Bristol area, People Plus in Brunswick, food banks etc. along with entertaining folks at local assisted living and nursing homes. It gives us great pleasure to see folks smiling, singing along with the music, tapping their feet and applauding loudly! This is why we do what we do!
The chorus also takes orders for and performs Singing Valentines every February to men and women alike in all possible places of work, schools and private homes. Singing Valentines are so much fun to do for unsuspecting victims.....who can't fathom opening the door and finding a quartet of gentlemen in tuxedos, bearing a rose and a card, singing two love songs to them, from their loved one. This is why we do what we do!
The Nor'easters are always looking for more men - young and young at heart - to join the chorus! You'll find us Tuesday nights at the United Methodist Church, 340 Oak Grove Road in Bath at 7 pm. Come visit and experience the fun of barbershop singing!
