Why We Do It

We love to make music! There is a special magic that fills the room when singing close four part harmony. Striking that perfect blend keeps us coming back every week! 

We engage the community! The Nor’easters perform live music in our local communities from spontaneous summer barbershop strolls to Christmas caroling to singing valentines.

The Nor’easters Chorus is a lively social club. We sing, we make jokes, and we work to enrich our community with classic and modern barbershop music.

We take pride in doing our part to keep barbershop music alive! Barbershop is an American art form that had a renaissance in the late 1930’s. It was during this time that the Barbershop Harmony Society was founded. Since then, the BHS has spread its roots across the USA and kept barbershop music alive by providing a common space for all things barbershop.

We are a proud supporter of Bath Brunswick Respite Care. It is amazing, important work that is so vital to our community. We hold an annual benefit concert with proceeds going to Respite Care. Many of our members also sit on the Respite Care board of directors.
